Project Description:

At UTAS’s worldwide headquarters, CHK designed a cutting edge museum to accommodate a range of displays.  Instantly recognizable among their exhibits is the Apollo-era space suit, or “Extravehicular Mobility Unit”.  In close collaboration with UTAS’ exhibit designer, our teams incorporated static displays and interactive AV displays.  The displays vary in scale from diminutive actuator assemblies up to a 14 foot diameter variable pitch propeller assembly.

Visitors follow a backlit path through the museum.  Sculptural ceiling elements echo the visitors’ path of movement through the space.  Adjustable track-mounted spotlighting supports ever-changing exhibits.  The museum is adjacent to the main visitor entrance and is fully butt-glazed to provide maximum visual access to the displays within.
