Project Description:

Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corporation, is a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines, space propulsion systems and industrial gas turbines.  UTC fosters a culture of continuous improvement.  Part of their continuous improvement philosophy includes their support of lifelong learning to expand their employees’ knowledge and capabilities to engage with the world outside of UTC.  Pratt & Whitney is committed to not only recruiting and retaining the best and brightest engineers, but also to educating them to become even better.

The Engineering Technical University exists within Pratt & Whitney’s new Engineering Technical Center on their East Hartford Campus.  This highly specialized Employee Training Center includes six classrooms of varying sizes, four conference/breakout rooms, office space for the full-time staff and a large reference library.  A full curriculum of courses is offered by the ETU for the benefit of the more than 5,000 engineers employed by Pratt & Whitney and involved in the design and manufacture of the world’s most sophisticated aircraft engines.  All of the courses offered by the ETU are taught by Pratt & Whitney’s most senior engineers, many of whom are considered “Fellows”.  The completion of this curriculum contributes to an engineer’s advancement within the ranks of the engineering team at Pratt & Whitney.
