Project Description:

The proposed new Parish Center for Immaculate Conception Parish is located on a 5 acre parcel between the existing rectory and parish cemetery in New Hartford, Connecticut.

The Center was designed to accommodate a variety of needs, including religious education, meetings, receptions, storage, and a pantry.  The design concept for both the site and the building would support an expansion of the structure at a later time.  It is anticipated that the Parish Center may range from about 5,500 square feet up to 10,000 square feet in area.

Our design incorporates meaningful architectural fragments salvaged from the convent and school that formerly stood on this site, including the convent bell, four stained glass windows, and a 19th century cornerstone.

Working closely with the landscape architect, CR3, the design takes best advantage of unique site features, especially the watercourse at the southern edge of the property.  Moreover, the site design relocates and incorporates existing shrines to St. Joseph and the Blessed Virgin.
