Project Architect / Project Manager

Clohessy Harris & Kaiser, founded in 1987, is focused on providing for the design needs of substantial commercial and institutional clients with the goal of building long-lasting business relationships.

We currently seek a Project Architect / Project Manager with 10+ years of experience in the development of architectural solutions for small to large scale commercial and institutional projects. This full-time position requires a highly motivated individual who can work effectively as both a team leader and a team member in the development of design and documentation for both new construction and renovation projects.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with client interactions/coordination, working and communicating with consultants, managing projects through construction completion and working both collaboratively and independently. The ideal candidate will possess strong design and planning skills, have a thorough understanding of construction documents, be knowledgeable of State of Connecticut Building Codes and have experience with the design of projects within existing buildings.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Architecture from an accredited university.

  • Either registered or working toward registration in the State of Connecticut.

  • Minimum 10 years of professional architecture experience, including design, documentation and construction administration experience.

  • Working knowledge of state and local building codes and accessibility requirements.

  • Superior skills in the use of AutoCAD are required, experience with Revit is desirable.

  • Competence with the Microsoft Office suite of software.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Highly professional demeanor.

  • Excellent graphic skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including fluency in the English language.

  • Available for occasional travel for out-of-state projects.

Project Designer

Clohessy Harris & Kaiser seeks a Project Designer to work in a collaborative, creative environment developing design and construction documentation for commercial and institutional projects. The successful candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in an architectural office utilizing Revit and AutoCAD for design and documentation. You will have proven BIM experience and proficiency in both AutoCAD 2019 and Revit 2019.  We have a great working environment with a full complement of benefits. EOE.

Office Manager

Clohessy Harris & Kaiser, founded in 1987, provides comprehensive design services for substantial commercial and institutional clients.  Our firm’s success springs largely from long-lasting business relationships with our valued clients.

We seek a full-time, experienced Office Manager. The position requires an energetic, calm professional who comfortably fills multiple roles. The successful candidate will have experience in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks and be able to work independently.  They should be well organized, flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting a mid-sized office. The position requires an extremely high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Invoicing/accounts receivable – Prepare and send monthly invoices to clients, maintain billing files and contracts.

  • Accounts payable – Process and pay bills.

  • Bank deposits and bank account reconciliation.

  • Process Bi-weekly payroll.

  • Provide financial data and cash flow data to the Firm’s principals.

  • Monitor employee timesheets for accuracy and completeness.

  • Process employee reimbursement checks.

  • Manage the on-boarding process of new employees.

  • Manage contracts for commercial and professional liability insurance coverage.

  • Coordinate renewals for medical, dental and disability insurance.

  • Coordinate with outside accountants for the firm’s required filings.

  • Provide support to manage contracts with phone, copier and other vendors.

  • Provide mutual support to other administrative staff.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite

  • Bookkeeping skills with Deltek Ajera and Quick Books experience preferred.
