Project Description:

The final phase of the three phase project for Aetna’s Corporate Security Office was the creation of a Security Command Center to replace the existing, outdated center.  Due to the 24/7 nature of Aetna’s security requirements, the existing console was temporarily relocated.  Room was provided in the new Command Center for four console operators to enable them to oversee day-to-day operations and respond to emergency situations.  Aetna’s Command Center is linked to all of Aetna’s satellite facilities all over the world.  In addition to the security consoles, a supervisor station is located within the space to assess and assist in the operations.  A video wall consisting of eight 55” monitors allows for full flexibility of a wide range of media to be placed in front of all operators.  Behind the operations space is a Chief Security Officer’s office and a large situation room with full AV content and connectivity to the video wall to review emergencies in real time.   Given the 24/7 operations environment, special attention was paid to the comfort of the operators; including acoustically separated spaces, specialty seating, lighting and a standalone HVAC system. A separate information technology closet with UPS backup was created to process all video and audio.
