Project Description:

Aetna's expansive Hartford campus features a fully equipped Education Center for Hartford- based employees as well as the employees from field offices nationwide. The 27,000 square foot facility offers 18 classrooms of varying size, to house a total of 384 students. Classes offered range from PC-based training to large group lectures.  The classrooms offer flexibility to accommodate a variety of instructor styles and the wide range of material being taught.  Audiovisual technology varies by room; some include automated voice/motion camera control.  The tiered auditorium space was given much acoustic attention, with strategically placed fabric wrapped panels.

The project also integrated food service/catering functions into the training environment to support full and half-day programs.  Other highlights of the project included the integration of private storage lockers for participants’ laptops and phones with charging functions to accommodate breaks in the training schedule. The entire training floor provides access to a new green roof space created specifically for the training participants during breakout periods.
